Even if you could connect to a Parks Wi-Fi it is unlikely they would have a port open to route to your camera since that is generally very bad to do security wise. Router generally only work connected to a lan cable. You can get extenders that can connect wirelessly, but that doesn’t handle the routing. I think your best bet is a cell based approach, but will be expensive. If you don’t need a video stream and pictures would do either on demand, motion, or time interval, you would use far less bandwidth.

You're confused because it's confusing - and I'm a professional nerd.

And the ways to access cameras have been changing, so it's a moving target.

Think about it this way:
- you need to buy a camera that works on WiFi
- you need some sort of "Hot Spot" device. That's the way to connect "WiFi" stuff to the cellular network, so you can make things connect without relying on the campground WiFi
- and you'll need a smartphone

The less expensive cameras take a lot of effort (dynamic dns, punching holes in the firewall, port forwarding).

But the more expensive cameras, like Nest, for example make things a lot easier.

If you've got the budget, take a moment to read up about the Nest camera (not an endorsement, just a suggestion). Read their installation documentation and see it makes sense.

I'm assuming based on the comments that you want to check on the pets when you are far away from the RV. I picked up an EZViz camera @ Xmas to use in the house when we are away. Works pretty good for the price and has cloud storage and phone app.

To view the RV when away from it you can use the park WiFi and configure the camera to connect to it when you setup. If you want to watch when no WiFi then you need a cell connection for it but you said you're on WiFi when parked.

Nothing wrong with being a nerd. In fact I appreciate your expertise.

As for the Nest camera I went on Amazon to check them out and was surprised at their large price. Being that said, I have two D-link cameras in my home. One works wonderful wireless and the other I have to run a cable to my router to get it to work. I have a computer expert friend who I'm gonna have stop by in spring to hook up a new 8 camera security camera system I'm installing and then I'll have him see what I need to get to put one of the cameras in my camper so I can access it from my Android.

I really appreciate all the input from everyone who's trying to help me.
