Gravel In My Latch

We have a brand new 2020 324BDS. This past weekend, the 3rd trip for this rig, the bathroom screen door latch stuck open. Never had this happen, and I certainly wasn't taking in for warranty. So I took the latch off and I heard something rattling around inside. It was gravel! How in the heck did this happen? Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thank goodness! When I saw that title I thought, ouch, that must really hurt. But my guess would be the gravel was in there from the factory and your few trips loosened it up and gave you the problem.
