gray tank disaster

This morning got up to drain the gray tank to take a shower and the entire holding tank was on the ground. It broke the pipe right before the drain valve and pulled wires loose. Input pipes just pulled out of the threads. Looks like its going to be fun to mount back. I think that I will put a couple of metal straps on after the install. Does anyone know what the little red coupler on the wiring does it pulled 2 of the 4 wires loose. Wasn't really expecting my morning to be this good. 2015 28BHBE

Seems like it's a manufacturers defect if the holding tank fell out. To me, that would warrant a trip back to the dealership to reinforce all of the holding tanks and re-do the plumbing. Thankfully it didn't happen while you were going down the road...

Not sure what the red connectors are you are talking about. They may be crimp connectors, but without more of a description or a picture, that's my best guess.

Yea that sounds like the easiest thing to do but the camper is semi permanent up on blocks with a porch and a carport over both, so I think I am just going to tackle it myself. I found a new harness on internet for like $5. Yea I would hate to see that thing coming at me on the highway. The tank is soft and the brackets are only about an inch on the sides. Seems a little weak for bouncing over bridges on the highway. I am going to put straps underneath the tank. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

The small red tab is called a resistor pack. 3 wires connect to sensors on the tank, (which give you the 1/3 - 2/3 - and full readings on the LED panel inside).
The 4th wire goes back to the panel.

On my 17A - they connect as follows, probably yours is the same.

Red Wire - back to LED panel - connected to wire coming from in the trailer.
Yellow Wire - Lowest sensor on the tank (1/3)
Green Wire - Middle sensor on the tank (2/3)
Orange Wire - Highest sensor on the tank (full)

There should be a white wire connected to the tank as well (a bit away from the 3 sensors, that connects to the trailer frame as ground.

Hope this helps.

For sure! I would probably go about securing the black tank to so that this doesn't happen to it!

I would contact your dealer and Jayco. Ask them if they would send someone out to fix it on site.
I've heard of them authorizing mobile repairs with pictures of the damage.

Good luck!
