greasing the sway bar. DOH

So I was helping my buddy and his dad hook up their jayco TT and my buds dad gets out a grease gun. I thought nothing of it at first thinking he was going to put a little on the ball or the hubs or something. No, he puts a TON of it on the sway bar and starts smearing it up and down the sway bar. So I sit there for a second and think "I'm 31, he's 62, how do I say not to put grease on that in a nice way." haha So I just say it. "So you know you aren't supposed to put grease on the sway bar right?" And he says "well it makes a lot of noise when I turn sharp." DOH I say "yeah, it works on friction, like your car brakes and it will make noise when you turn sharp. Just take it off or loosen it all the way when parking it." I doubt he'll listen though because I'm just a youngster to him, but oh well. haha

I wonder how he stores the bars when not in use? Hope he's not putting inside his storage compartments.

well of course he is. :hihi: That's why he has the thick black rubber gloves to get them out. So he doesn't get all greasy. (And I'm serious) haha

Just hope that he doesn't decide to Google "grease sway bar" though! That could cause some trouble!

LOL

I had just told my husband that my brother has tunnel vision when it comes to advice about camping. I read this post and completely thought of him!

Ohhhhhhh No-no-no (Newbies... NO!). My brother did this a few years back. I can't even tell you how long it took him to unslick the brake pad! Do this only if you desire to ultimately post in the Knucklehead thread LOL
