Question Great first trip! Water valve problem????

Aloha all! Just returned from a six week (our first trip) trip and we had a great time. LOVE our little Jayflight 198rd. The Lexus GX470 towed it effortlessly too!

We did come up with a couple challenges mechanically but we figured out the black water tank....finally. (Tip: DO NOT dump your tank every time you move to a new campground!) Give it some time and lots of water to slosh that stuff around to get a good flush

One problem we haven't figured out happened on our last night on the road (phew). We ran our trip with a mostly empty or low fresh water tank. We mostly operated on city water hookup with filters and regulator. The last night, we discovered our fresh water tank intake spewing water while hooked up to city water. It was obviously over filled. Is there a valve that might have compromised allowing the city water to back into the fresh water tank?

We can't figure it out! Mahalo all, Julie

Inside the fresh water pump is a check valve. If the check valve is stuck open it would back fill into the fresh water tank. Had this happen to my tt. Had to take pump apart and just touch the valve and it popped into place no problems since. Remove the pump assembly from the trailer remove the pump head 6 screws, you will see the valve from the back of the pump.
