Grey tank handle broke

HELP!!! Hi. I’m a new Jayco owner and need a little help. When I closed my grey water tank the metal rod broke about 5” from the handle. Is the whole rod replaceable or do I need to replace the valve too? Also, everything is enclosed underneath the RV. Is there a way to get to the tank valve without cutting into the cover?

You should be able to replace just the rod. Our black water valve is dead center underneath, and the rod screws onto the shorter rod section attached to the valve. Ours is about 32" long. You probably will have to open the coroplast to get to it. Here's where you can get it, or at least the part number, once you know how long yours is.

Did you have to replace the whole rod, or is the handle a serviceable part by itself?

I have not replaced it yet. I saw a replacement plastic and metal option on amazon.

It broke as we were dumping on our last trip of the year.

you must cut the plastic cover. only cut 3 sides. leave the front side intact to act as a hinge. repair with Gorilla Tape.
