Grey water lever in 32 BHDS

We have a 2017 JayFlight 32BHDS. When the slides are out it is very difficult to reach the grey water lever to empty the tank. We are thinking of something to reach in and pull the lever and then push it closed. The best thing we have found is a telescoping boat hook. Anybody else with the camper that would have some suggestions for us?

Our Starcraft Autumn Ridge 329bhu (sister to the 32bhds) came with a long approx 4ft metal hook which come to find out is actually a manual awning hook like below. Works perfect for reaching underneath the slide to pull open gray water lever.

It is a stupid @$$ design. I have to lay on the ground and crawl underneath the large slide to empty when. Not sure what they were thinking when they decided to locate it there.

We agree that it is a poor setup. We are tired of crawling under the slides to take care of it. So far a telescoping boat hook seems to be what might work best. Some things will pull the lever, but are not able to push it back in.
