Grey water tank valve

Hey everyone I have a quick question.

The handle for my Greg water tank is always open I have attempted to close it but yet to work. Is there anyway I can just replace the handle to be able to close it or do I need to replace the valve completely? Or are there solutions to maybe a way to get it to get it to close with my handle?

When I try to close it with my handle it will start to bend the handle piece so any helpfuk advice would be great thanks guy!

sounds to me like it is binding up somewhere. I would see if there is something in the tracks that it slides on...if not I would replace the whole valve.

Thanks for the response, I crawled under to get as close to the valve as possible and we tried to push it in that way but nothing happened.

Since I am still new where can I find the part for it at?

The valve replacement part can be purchased at most any rv supply. Easy to replace with removal of 4 small bolts. Do some watching online of the procedure and make sure the tank is empty before proceeding.

Usually grey tanks are 3 inch and black tank valves are 4 inch.

What's the black tank? Sewage?

I only have 2 tanks 1 grey water tank, and then I have my sewage tank.

It could also be the gasket has slipped the o-ring track. Just take it apart and have a look see. It ain't rocket science... It's just water.

Does the pull valve connect directly to the valve or does it have a flexible pull cable? Do some research before tearing into it.

I will have to take a picture tonight but it has a plastic t-handle that then connects to a metal cable, hard to say if it is or it isn't a flexible cable.

My Eagle has two grey tanks, a 50 gal for the shower and a 30 gal for the galley. The galley tank is located under the kitchen sink, above the floor. Because of this it works well for flushing the black tank. After emptying the black tank I leave it open and close off the outlet with an auxiliary valve, then open the galley tank. This allows the galley water to backfill into the black tank. Then by opening the aux. valve I get a good backflush of the black tank.

The purpose of my post was to alert you that the flex hose may have to be replaced as part of the valve. Just make sure you don't get a surprise.

I understand fully, like I said I'm new to RVs and not sure what some things are.

But thank you very much for the heads up.
