Has anyone bumper mounted a Blackstone?

Greetings!

I am curious if anyone has used a blackstone on a bumper mount?

I'm looking to get either the 17" or 22" blackstone but I'd like to be able to utilize a bumper grill mount. I'm having a hard time finding anything for a blackstone.

Has anyone done this. Also, will my bumper need additional reinforcement for the mount?

Thank you for any insight/advice.

There's a guy that will make custom grill mounts that swing out. Been wanting to buy one for my GMG Crockett

Does this guy have a website?

All the mounts I'm finding are too small for the blackstone. I don't need to store the griddle on the mount. My other thought is to purchase one and modify it myself.

I do use a Blackstone 17" on a shelf I made which attaches to a rear bumper swing-out mount. The griddle does not travel or get stored there, it rides inside the trailer. I have an adapter from PropaneGear to adapt it via quick-disconnect to my low pressure trailer propane line in the back.

My Jay Feather came with a swing-out rack and a grill which mounts to it by way of 2 pegs on the rack. The grill was cheap and heats unevenly, so I replaced it with a Weber Q1200 which is adapted to my low-pressure house propane using a quick-disconnect. The shelf I made will accommodate either the Weber or the Blackstone.

I will try to find pictures of the shelf and post them. The swing-out itself is fairly sturdy and is the same that comes as an option on many trailers. It has no problem holding the 17". I would think it could hold a 22" as long as you are not traveling with the griddle mounted.

Here is the griddle being used:

1.Stock photo of original grill (not mine, but exactly the same)
2.Pegs on swing-arm bumper mount
3.Pipe hardware to hold shelf to pegs, brass painted black
4.Finished shelf
5.Hinged brace to secure Weber feet (admittedly will not stop a determined thief, but may protect my kids from the grill falling off...)

The shelf travels inside the trailer as well.

That's awesome! Exactly what I'm looking for.

Thank you! That definitely gives me some ideas. Sometimes we just need to get creative huh?

I know this is an older thread, but just came across this: https://www.flemingsalesoem.com/product/griddle-n-stow/

Anybody using this? Worth the $150?

They were oe on some TT's a few years back.

I guess they never caught on with the crowd in a cg because it would be right by the road.

Hey lateott,

Wanted to thank you for your write up and pictures, I’m currently building something similar going off what you have here.

I have the same factory grill arm you do, do you happen to remember where you got the pipe flange hardware and what size it is? How stable has it proven to be?

Thanks

So today I got a new 17” blackstone from blue home improvement store, and since my jayco came with the cheap gas grill that I’ll never use, it got me thinking…. I bet I could take the brackets off of it and mount to the side of blackstone.

I used self tapping screws and tried to balance it on the arm. It’s pretty sturdy! I also have the quick connect hose, so I’ll be able to hook straight in to the camper gas.

Think it turned out pretty good.

Here it is in my album: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/m...lbums2073.html

Looks like a really good idea. I also just got a blackstone grill and been thinking about some ideas to have it mounted. I purchased the 22" two burner grill. Hopefully it will work. Going to try it out.

I also have the 22” Blackstone and the Jayco factory bumper grill arm mount. Did you fabricate a mount for yours? Any pictures??

That’s a great setup! We just bought a 22” and think a shelf with those flanges and pipes that slip onto the existing “pegs” would be very sturdy and stable.

Here’s mine. Got the flanges at Lowe’s next to the black pipe section. Tighten down with an Allen key, pretty sturdy.

Thats a great mounting system you made! Patent it! Lol. Heading to Lowe’s later to get the supplies! Also like that it can also be used as a table in general for food prep, work table, etc.

Has anyone thought about using the inside of the 4" square bumper to hold a mount and slide it out of the opening and have an adjustable riser you attach to it after?
