Has anyone replaced their shower controls?

I did a search and couldn't find any mod or info on this.
I have replaced the bathroom faucet and the shower head itself, but the shower controls feel very flimsy.
Any input would be appreciated.

Recently I replaced my bathtub and removed the shower controls in the process. I will agree that compared to what is in my home the plastic fixture does seem cheap. However when you consider the amount of use it gets and also that it is mounted on a thin piece of plastic backed by a thin piece of luan there is not enough support for a heavy metal faucet. Also consider that internally both a plastic fixture and a heavy metal fixture rely on a small rubber washer to stop the flow of water. Unless you are using your shower daily I feel the plastic fixture is adequate for recreational use.

I full time so I am interested in this thread. I have replaced my vanity sink faucet and shower head as well.

Interested in options for the shower control.

I replaced the plastic Phoenix brand shower faucet also because it was flimsy and would often drip. I replaced it with the same brand faucet, but an all brass version of it. It's easy to do. The faucet is attached to what amounts to a plastic box which is screwed to the shower wall. Remove the screws, remove the box, and you can reach the piping connections at the back of the faucet; you can just unscrew the connectors with your fingers. Re-attach the new faucet and seal up the box.

We have had no issues with the new all brass Phoenix shower faucet; I used this faucet - cllcky

Thanks, I appreciate both points of view on the subject and the link. I will keep an eye on it as we use it. Is the new one any better quality or just in a metal housing?

I replaced the kitchen and bath faucets with residential ones, but due to space limitations I went with the brass version of the Phoenix like RV hiker. As for the shower head, I prefer the one that came with our TT over the Oxygenics and have kept it.

The faucet I linked to is a brass faucet with a chrome decorative top. My original faucet - like you probably have - has a plastic body. The new brass body faucet shuts off much better.

Interesting to know if replacing the stock shower handles would alleviate the 90% hot to 10% cold mix I have to do now to get a comfortable shower.
Since there is no thermostat to adjust on the hot water heater this is what I have to do.

I saw a temp controlled shower control somewhere online, if I can find it again I will post it but unless the stock control meters the flow it would not make a difference.

I wish the hot water tank had an adjustable thermostat like in my old Jayco had. I don't understand why the new one does not.

yes that is the one I saw too. As for China, what isn't made there??

On our first TT I had to partially close the cold water valve on the bypass system, otherwise we'd get a slug of hot water which would quickly become luke warm. Problem solved. You might tinker with that.
