Heating

I have a 2008 Jay flight 24rks. When I turn heat on air will blow for a minute or so. Then nothing. Any ideas? Also where would I access the furnace to work on it.

May be purge the lines by lighting a stove burner. Reset the furnace switch at the thermostat and see what happen.

Most late model Atwood furnaces will present a flashing code, but by most of the furnaces it is hard to see them. And I don't know where it is located in a 24rks

Probably not much help here. where you connected to shore power or the battery? Use the gas stove to purge the gas line (sounds like you did that). If your frig is above the furnace or really close run it on gas, and see if it will operate.

If the furnace still does not run and you are on shore power, remove the furnace plate, and flip the reset button. Try again.

If running off of 12V, when the battery voltage is below some voltage, not sure what value that is anymore, the furnace will cycle on and off, blow a little air, but will not light. Solution check your 12V voltage reading, and change/charge your battery.

Might be some debris in the gas pilot line. Pull the heater out from the inside and disassemble to clean out the oriface.

I found this set of instructions online. It is somewhat generic but should give you someplace to start.

We are hooked up to electric. Heater had worked just a week ago. When we turn on the heat, the fan kicks on and you can hear it click like it is trying to light. It does that 3 times and then kicks off.

We will try that. Unfortunately, the furnace is behind the kitchen sink and very hard to get to.

The service area of the Atwood furnace is towards the outside wall. Jayco just saves a few dollars to have that outside door installed. But for service you have to pull the furnace and do bench testing. While if it had a service door you could do it in place.
Be sure the air flow isn't restricted in anyway; duct airflow as well the return air as this will trip the sail switch. May be with a small mirror on a stick (like they have in automotive) you might check the fault codes which will help you to solve the problems easier.

Well, you did gain some information. The clicking sound you hear is the igniter attempting to light the burner. Often furnaces will attempt to light 3 times and then go into lockout.
The fact that you hear the furnace attempting to light indicates that the thermostat, sail switch and the high limit switch are working normally, however the flame sensor never detects a flame. So the issue could be the igniter itself (or its adjustment), the gas valve, the gas flow into the valve, or the circuit board that controls it all. It could also be wiring to any of these components.
If you cannot reach or see these components then you will most likely have to remove the furnace. I have done this myself and ran the entire system off of a car battery and propane bbq tank to test it.

Check for Spiders

The spiders love to crawl into the gas tubes. They are attracted by the smell or something. Use an air compressor set on low or a can of compressed air and clear any open pipes you can find in the area of the furnace.

Snowbird 9; do you have an outside access door for the furnace? If it is hidden in a space within the unit it is hard to read the fault codes.

Just a comment.
This week I was working in my front storage area on a sewer line and I could clearly see a reset switch on the side of the furnace. I have never had to use it but if I did, it would require removing an access panel in the storage area.

Sounds like it is trying to ignite, but not getting fuel. If fuel levels are good, and you have turned the fuel supply off and on to clear the safety valve, might need a good cleaning if it was working before. Does your stove work???
