Hello-thanks for the successful trip

Hello,
I've been reading these boards since I purchased my Jay flight slx bh264w last June. I just returned from a whirlwind 17 day 6000 mile trip in it to Yellowstone, Bryce canyon, mt. Rushmore and several other stops with my family. Thank you all for all of the information on this site, I'm sure it made my trip much smoother. No big issues with the truck ( tundra) or the tt except for losing a sewer hose somehow.
Thanks again!

You see all kinds of rv stuff on the side of the road. Sewer hoses are the most common. Also fridge and water heater covers. AC shrouds and roof vent covers are also a common thing.

We were looking at our vent covers this trip and found that a couple of them were loose and missing self tapping screws. I'm going to re-do them with bolts and nyloc nuts.

The sewer hose was empty, somehow escaped the bumper on the interstate probably in New Mexico, I also saw a lot of others gear on the side of the road, allot of propane tank covers. The trip was awesome, I upgraded to an equal-lizer before the trip and it was the best money I could have spent. Here is a pic of the rig and smoke from a fire near Bryce canyon that was only 2800 acres at this time but has grown to about 40000. Thanks again for all of the knowledge on this site, I actually helped a buddy who had my us with some of his sway problems from info I had gained from here.

Hey BWW1979, glad you had a great trip. I also have a Tundra and would love to do a trip like this, I have a 24 RBS, about 5400 pounds empty, did you experience any issues with towing, what was some of the good advice offered that you accepted and made adjustments. I am really interested in how the Tundra performed up and down hills, passes, etc. Thanks .....

Happy you had such a great trip.

However, what is it about New Mexico and lost sewer hoses? Same thing was happening to me in 2014 when were passing through Albuquerque. We were in the rightest of the through lanes when folks came up on either side pointing to the rear of the TT.

Looked in the mirror and the stinky slinky was dangling out the bumper tube. Unfortunately some of the good folks who were letting us know about the sewer hose were riding along the right side of the pickup. That prevented me from moving to the right and the shoulder.

Eventually, got to the shoulder and put the sewer hose in the rear of the pickup. Fortunately it was an old one that was used only as a back up. My good Rhino hose was safely in a large tub already in the rear of the pickup.
