Please help. I purchased a 2011 Jay feather ultralite x213 under six months ago. I made the mistake of putting a TARP over the trailer and down the sides. Between the frinction of the tarp and the rope, I used to fasten the tarp to the RV, my paint has black spots all throughout. Even some places where the bungee cord was rubbing against the paint on the sides looks like it has worn down several layers of the finish. (Which I will also admit I used carabineers on the grommets of the tarp which also rubbed on the surface of RV. Is there a DYI method of fixing this? What exactly are the COATS of paint on the exterior of this model? Any help would be appreciated as I do not have over 10 grand to repaint the whole thing.
My suggestion would be to contact a local body/paint shop that does RV's and get a quote. I have such a place down the street from me that does my auto
work but they do a lot of RV's as well.

On the dark spots, try spraying the area down with Simple Green, or my preferred product Spray Power. Spray it on full strength, I then use a carwash brush and wash the trailer down as normal. It will take any wax off too. Both work surprisingly well at removing black spots. Spray Power also does an incredible job removing bugs from the front cap.

Thanks for the referral. I will try a few products to bring it back to life, but I am afraid that it may have worn it down to the laminated wood requiring Body Repair as you suggested. Will check into it. Thanks.
yeah some of the black spots could be mold spots I would try the simple green first or a bleached water solution and let it dry then relook at it .... as far as polishing if it is fiberglass it has gelcoat on the outside but you have to be careful how much you buff on it
