Help! How to fill water tank?

I'm stuck! I read the manual, search the internet, and have been reading and searching for filling up water tank; but, I can't find the answer.

This is my 1st camper, Jayco White hawk 30DSQB, but for the life of me I can't get the fresh water tank to fill.

I connected the city water to the city water inlet. Turn on the water, go inside open the cold water and wait for air bubbles to disappear. Then I wait for the tanks to fill but nothing? I disconnect the hose, go inside and open the cold water and it goes for a few seconds, then empty. I just had the hose hooked up for 2 hours and the tanks aren't filling.

I even tried the "dry camping" method of filling up a 5 gallon bucket and using the pump to draw the water in, it only grabs water when I open the cold water.

It's driving me nuts...I wasted the 10 hours searching, trying to fill, and now I need some sleep and I leave first thing in the morning.

And I thought this was easy.

Do have something that looks like this on the side of your TT, if so, it's where you fill the fresh water tank.

In some trailers, the 'city water connection' is only for that purpose. You fill the water tanks through a different port like the one in the pic above.

Sounds like you are not hooked up right. How about this...disconnect hose from city water connection. Look for fresh water fill opening, then fill fresh water tank. That should do it for you.

Ah....that's what that thing was for. It's on the other side of the trailer next to the door.

See...I knew it was so easy it was stupid.

I have 2 hose connections on the hookup side, 1 is the City Water, and the other is the waste tank flush.

No problem. You will also see a small vent hole next to the tank fill port. This is so air can escape as water enters the tank. It's not unusual for water to flow back out. If so, just slow down the speed of fill.

On my last trailer, the water tank had a white plastic spigot located right on the side of the tank. If I left that open at all, the water would just run out of the system and I would have an empty tank. (Ask me how I know....). After getting the spigot position correct, all would work fine.
Now days, my rig has two separate hose connections for coach use, direct and for the tank fill, and there is also a control panel by the connection points. It also has a connection for the black tank wash out, which leads into the black tank.
There are 2 spigots at the lowest point in the water lines used to drain lines. Those need to be closed. The hot water heater has a plug that needs to be in there or it will let water out too.

We also have a 2014 WhiteHawk 30DSQB.....you're on the right track now...it's the one by the front door.....one cannot fill the fresh water tank from the city water hookup.....these folks on here are the greatest....no problem goes unanswered....welcome to the WhiteHawk family!!!!!

Well just good you didn't connect it to the black water flush like some folks did that can be a mess
