Help! Roof Leaks

Hi Folks! Idahoans here, just bought out first camp trailer. A 1995 Jayco Eagle SL244. All was checking out great until we had a massive rain storm (for Idaho this was the biggest rain storm we have experienced thus far). Leaks through interior ceiling seams, dripping lights, in cabinets, etc. Roof appears to be wood product with the coating flaking off in places. Suggestions on where to start with the resealing of the roof.

Wow, umm, where to start. First and foremost, you should pull light fixtures and perhaps pull a panel at an inconspicuous place and try to determine if the roof and/or walls are water damaged or starting to dry rot. Then do whatever it takes to get the TT completely dried out.
There are products you can purchase at or through RV dealership service centers to reseal the roof which are rubber or silicone type of compound you put on. Its really not that bad of a job. Just be very thorough. fix any dry rot you find. Places to look for products online would be camping world or SixRobLees.

You are obviously very new to RV's. You probably bought this unit thinking this would be an inexpensive way to get into camping. The only safe way to go would be to pay someone that is REALLY qualified to inspect your trailer. If you have extensive damage and don't know what you are looking at, you could very well be putting good money down a rat hole. It may not be too bad but if you have that kind of water running in from that many areas, it probably has been leaking along time. I would want to know just how much it is going to cost before I spent anymore then you already have. You have made one investment that may or may not have been good. Don't plow anymore into it until you know where you are going. I bought a trailer some years back that had a leak in the slide roof. It was leaking down between the outer and inner wall. It didn't show visual damage for the first two years that I owned it. Short story was the whole roof and wall rotted. It would be worth paying someone to evaluate your trailer before proceeding!!
