I went to my local camping world and was lucky enough to try out both on site and there was a very big difference to me between the champion 3400 non dual fuel and the honda 3000 definitely not a thousand dollar difference but my brother has 2 of the Hondas both with over 3000 hours each and never 1 problem so I said the heck with it and got the Honda. If they would have had the cummins onan in stock or could have got it in a couple of days I would have bought it but they couldn't so the honda it was. I will say its heavy as crap but I did wont the bigger gas tank so ill have to deal with the weight.

I recently sold my Briggs & Stratton 3500 generator after suffering through about 600 hours of noise. Replaced it with a Briggs & Stratton P4500 watt Inverter (Suitcase) . Bought it from Lowes on sale for $799.00 and got another 10% Veteran discount, putting it real close to the HF Predator. It does weigh 100 lbs, but it IS quiet! The 3500w generator was 'loaded' with 15K a/c, coffee maker, elec hot water heater and occasional ice maker. If the wife turned on the microwave with two of the above running, the generator tried to jump off the platform on the rear of the trailer. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Briggs-S...0795/310699918

Anyone try the pulsar 4000 inverter? Electronic remote start included and you can get them for about $800.

I read the one, two and three star reviews on the lower priced generators and compared to the same reviews on the Honda. I decided that the Honda was worth it. On a hot night boondocking and the generator dies I would be shamed by the family for saving a little money. Hey the same thing could happen with the Honda but at least I tried to minimize the chances.

Good luck!

Suggest you look into Hutch Mountain.
I installed their kit for the Honda 2200. Works great with both gas and propane. Very easy install.
BTW, I also installed the MicroAir Easy Start.
They both makes the investment on the Honda worthwhile!!!

You can buy two A-ipower 2000i for about $700 if you look hook them in parallel if you need AC or just use one when you don't need. Light & small enough to tote arround

A-ipower

You can buy two A-ipower 2000i for $700 hook in parallel when you need air or just run one when you don't. Then you can tote one anywhere when you need power light & quiet

Honda 2200i with an easy start (soft-start) from hutch mountain, the Honda engine is 121cc vs 87cc on other generators that claim to be 2200.
This setup will run-up to a 15000btu a/c no worries, they’re only 47lbs, and they are campground approved for noise level (barely hear them). If you need more prominent than that, then you can get a companion Honda generator, and you’re still winning in weight and noise!
Check the actual cc on other generators, Honda generator put out what they claim, and their warranty and service are second to none. Well worth the extra money!

We purchased the Harbor Freight Predator 3500 last year for $689 and the extended warranty for $100 and am totally satisfied with our purchase. Our unit is the quietest inverter in the entire campground, and has powered everything we needed at the same time. The unit starts right away, and runs so quiet I've forgotten it was still running long after it was needed. I agree with an earlier post, that I can buy 3 Predators for the price of 1 Honda. And if there is a problem, Harbor Freights are located almost everywhere near where we camp.

I have been looking at the Honda EU3000, westinghouse igen 4500 and the onan cummins 4500. I've been racking my brain on justifying the extra $1000+ dollars for the Honda and will it run everything in my trailer? The champion ran everything without any issues but was just so dang loud. So I guess the question is Is the honda A $1000 better?
Harbor Freight has a great powerful one that is quiet, it has great reviews. The 3500 is 799 unless you have a coupon. You can connect two together and have about 6,000 running watts

I just bought a champion 3500 watt inverter generator. I'll let you know how it works out. I wanted the dual fuel version that runs on gad or propane, but they were sold out.

Have you considered the Champion Inverter models? A lot cheaper then Honda and Yamaha. Youtubers LONG LONG HONEYMOON have good product reviews on various inverter generators.

I have Westinghouse i4500DF, great generator, not as quite as Honda but much quieter than the Champion. Love the dual fuel operation. $1k vs. $4k, a no brainer.

Why not get get a champion inverter genny. I have the 3400w duel fuel. Runs gas or propane. It's small quiet and RV ready. I run it on propane since I have to carry this fuel anyways plus it burns cleaner and your genny will last longer. Plus you don't have to carry a can of gas in your vehicle. Mine runs my whole rig, no issues.
