Highland Ridge - Owned By Jayco - Comparison?

Wasn't sure if this was the correct location for this conversation.

Anyone have any thoughts on Quality/construction/features of the Highland Ridge trailers vs comparable Jayco models? I'm looking in the Under 30' total length size for bunkhouse models only. Highland Has some neat floorplans like the UT2510 and UT2504. Plus my local Jayco dealer sells both brands.

I think the naming gets pretty confusing, because I don't know if these Highland Ridge Ultra lite models are really that light at all.

UT2504 - GVR 7400 lbs Total Length 28'11"
UT2510 - GVR 7400 lbs Total Length 29'3"
Jay Flight SLX 242BHSW - GVW 7250 lbs Total Length 29'2"
Jay Flight SLX 267BHsW - GVW 7500 lbs Total Length 30'2"

I haven't set foot in either to compare, but I"m guessing it's pretty minor differences, mostly cosmetic between the two brands. Only thing I can see in construction is that Highland Ridge advertises a PVC roof vs the DiFlex II on the Jay Flight SLX, which I think is a version of TPO? I guess Highland also says their "EquaFlex" suspension is better. Doesn't look special to me.

It's Sunday, give it time..., folks are returning from camping

I'm not that familiar with the newer Highland Ridge products to provide a good detailed response other then they are 4" wider (100") then the Jayco models (96"), which has some advantages (i.e., space around master bed, etc.).

Looked at them a few years ago and thought they were better then most, possibly at par with Jayco in some comparable model lines. I believe at the time they used cable system slides, not sure if they still do.

They seem to be well built. The model I was interested in seem to be priced about the same as the Eagle line. That line was advertised as a four season camper too.

My Jayco dealer/old friend just decided to retire so my sweet discount on jayco rvs is retired too. I called to order a new jay flight and he told me he shut down. So I started looking around and Highlander is an option for me. I believe the quality is on par with Jayco. I'm back and forth right now. Sorry for the ramblings.

We looked at a Highlad Ridge 5er that was at a dealer we were visiting and weren’t impressed. The build quality seemed to be on par with the Eagle, but the interior decor felt cheaper to us. That said, every bodies tastes are different and what we didn’t care for someone else may love.

Agree. Like the quality as stated and the interior is more inline with them jayco models from the late 90 s through the 2000s. The Quest line I think it was called.

Seems like they are lining it up more with the white-hawk level than the Jay Flight SLX 8 models in the size I"m looking at. maybe I just think that because of the fibreglass exterior.

For the size and features I want it's pretty much between the
2018 HR UT2504BH
2018 JF SLX 242BHSW
2017 WhiteHawk 25BHS (which is hard to find now)

The UT2504BH is about $6500 Canadian dollars more on the website than the SLX 242BHSW.

I can't offer comparison notes, but we have a 2015 SLX 264BHW, bought new. We're in our 3rd year with it, probably 8,000 miles, over 40 nights in it, and we couldn't be happier.

Any thoughts on the PVC roof on the Highland Ridge trailers? Apparently doesn't get chalky, which sounds nice.

Just a thought. . I have worked with pvc for 25 years and the sun really makes it brittle in time. Going to research this roof more.
