We have a sturdy Rubbermaid wheeled cart that holds all of our hitch parts. We roll the hitch out to the TV (about 12" from the receiver) to install it. And we do the same in reverse order when we remove it from the TV. It all fits nicely in the garage. We leave the head in the receiver when we are camping. We cover it with a couple of plastic grocery bags (tied on). This keeps it clean and dry while we are driving with it in the receiver but unhitched. We also use a rubber cover.
Everything works very well!

Hitch head stays on the truck all time, WD bars in a 5” x 5” x 4’ long piece of vinyl fence post mount on the trailer A frame, behind the battery box.

This might be the answer I need for convenient storage. Can you by chance post a picture of that setup?

Hitch head
I bought a hitch mount for bikes and put it on the fork near the propane tanks.
About $30 and need longer bolts depending on the fork.

Forty-seven years of towing & camping and I’ve never greased a hitch ball. Never had a scratch on ball or hitch. I’ve always left the ball on the truck even when not camping. Only smacked a shin ONCE ! That’s all it took to teach me.
I no longer tow with a ball since I have a ProPride hitch and I leave the heavy “stinger” assembly on my truck until I return home, then it goes in the garage.

I leave the hitch locked in the trailer coupler. I put a small lock in the hole and lock it. The arms go in the front boot with the anti sway bar.

Great thread, I bought one of those hitch grips after reading this thread. I was putting the thing in my storage on the Jayco, no more of that, It will go under the car port with the hitch grip............

The bumper hitch described fits a 4"x4" RV bumper. My 25RB A-frame is 2"x5.5". Any thoughts about refitting the 4x4 unit with longer bolts to accommodate my A-frame? Seems like it should be easy but things are not always as they seem.
