Hitch height measurement needed

Howdy folks -

I need a hitch measurement from someone with a 32BHDS or similar trailer. Where I store my trailer, the ground is not level, so the hitch is way off the ground. Can someone tell me how high the hitch sits on this kind of trailer when the trailer is level? I need the measurement from the ground to the top of the coupler. Any trailer that has the coupler mounted on top of the frame rails should work (this should be pretty much all of the larger Jayco models).

Let me know what you've got.

Thanks!!

- Steve

I'll give that a try. In the meantime, if anyone has their trailer sitting in the driveway and a tape measure, let me know what you've got!

I don't have the answer, however I notice you mention the coupler being mounted on top of the frame. We just looked at several '13 and '14 32BHDS and the coupler was bottom mounted. This was important to me since we have trunnion bars and they have come in contact with the frame on my top mount coupler for the 26BH.

Just wanted to point that out so you don't get a bad measurement if the coupler mount has changed since your model year.

Now that you mention it, you are absolutely correct. I had it backwards in my head. The coupler is at the bottom, which is good for most WD style hitches. Thanks for clarifying! I would update my original, but it looks like that ship has sailed...

FYI, Jayco came through... should be 23" to the top of the coupler when the trailer is level.

Texas,

Not sure you still need this, but with the top of my ball at 24.25" after hooked up, i was only half and inch off measuring bottom of the camper frame to the ground in 32' 21" up front, 20.5 in the rear.

I used the same 24.25 height on the two trucks i haul with (dodge and a chevrolet) and that measurement worked for both.
