There is a youtube shows a lock that works, around $400-$500 (???) vs those you show ($20-$100???) all removed in 10-seconds w/ prybar; this maybe one of the better ones?

You can also do your own youtube search/view?

Reconsider a hitch lock. Recently thieves circumvented a hitch lock by using chains attached to the trailer frame. They were able to tow the trailer away with ease. I would research a wheel chock locking systems on Amazon. Just a thought ...

I checked my neighbors trailers and locks at the storage. There are nice trailers with the same lock as mine. I'm thinking that's the edge I need. I never want to have the nicest rig in the lot.

Proven lock

I went with Provenlock, but sent pictures to verify which lock fit my hitch.
They were very responsive.

Ft. Knox trailer tongue lock

I have the same trailer and use this lock. No one will try to open this as it used a closed are puck lock.

I had one of the cheapo master locks at first. After having someone attempt to break into our previous trailer when I had it stored at our local fairgrounds under cover for the winter, and having decided that for what they wanted to charge me for rental space in an unsecure area, and buying a newer, longer trailer, and accepting the consequence of having to remove snow from the roof, AND hearing many of the horror stories of other owners that had their rigs stolen from in front of their houses, I decided to upgrade my trailer lock. I store my trailer with the self leveling legs extended so I can open the slide whenever I want and that by itself is a deterrent but I chose a Proven Lock for my coupler. So far, I'm very impressed with the design and quality of this lock. Yes it's heavy, and yes it's a little harder to remove, but I got it that way for a reason. I also purchased a matching locking hitch pin that is keyed alike to the coupler lock.

I just bought a hitch ball and cut off the mounting bolt. And for extra, chain and pad lock, locking two wheels together.

The beast and fits every trlr.

Look into the Fortress Coupler lock from Progressive(also make the equalizer wdh). I have the Fortress and have used it on two different trailers. This thing is a beast. At one point I had lost the key for it. I tried lots of locksmiths and none could pick the lock. Also I was told that even using a grinder to cut through the shackle was going to be costly as they would most likely have to use multiple grinding wheels to get the job done. This thing is a beast. Don't lose the key(s) if you purchase one of these. Luckily, I found my spare key.

I scanned for this and didn't see it. Sorry you lost your rig (temporarily). Congratulations on recovering it.

Locks CAN be useless if you leave the safety chains on the rig. One does NOT need to hitch up to tow away a rig. Just wrap the safety chains aroung the TV hitch and go. It works just fine, and you can tow the rig many miles that way.

A battery powered mini-grinder will make short work of ANY lock, so consider your lock to be a deterrent that will get a potential thief to move on to an easier to steal rig.

Unfortunately, nothing will stop a thief. If they want it bad enough, they're gonna get it. Best bet is removing one side of wheels. And even then, they can still get the unit. There's not many deterrents out there totally thief-proof.

I have this Ft Knox lock and a guy will have to work real hard to even grind it off.

I have a puck lock on each wheel also, and a GPS tracker.

When I had a TT I bought a hitch lock that was rated 4.5 on Amazon. While at the repair shop I put it on the hitch, because the TT was in the open. When repairs were completed I went to pick up the TT and the lock wouldn't open. The tech that did the work took less than 5 minutes to drill out the lock mechanism to remove the hitch lock.

Proven lock works

It did Bob. Meant to reply earlier but have not been at the camper much as of late with the cold weather. I had take a tad off each side of the hitch tongue with grinder for perfect fit(so lock box would slide all the way back in place). Now I need to hit that area with rust inhibitor. I like that this lock has a lockbox for chain hooks and I like the mechanism is one of those round machine keys. Take care.

It seems to me a hitch lock is going to slow down a thief. That's all. With all of the battery operated drills and disk grinders, it's really not hard to take a lock off.
Hopefully, the thief will go on to an easier trailer.

It will take them a while to get it off, if they do. LPL approved.

That lock looks pretty good. Would the key lock be the weak spot?

You can upgrade the Puck (lock disc) for another $100 to "solid 303 stainless steel". As is Puck comes in " billet 6061 aluminum". I figured aluminum was fine and lock discouraging enough to would be thief. If someone really wants to steal the camper (again), there really isn't any stopping anyone as far as I'm concerned. I have no illusion of a fool proof lock, just thought I'd do what I think is good enough.
