Holding norcold door open?

Hi, wondering if anyone out there has come up with a good way to hold the Norcold fridge door open a bit while in transit. Just short distances, back and forth from home to storage. The small sliding tabs are only okay while sitting. I tried using them to hold the door just barely open but any little movement and the door closes.

We've never had any problems using the tabs to keep the doors open when travelling, although we only do that at the end of season when we are hauling to winter storage.

I always close them in transit to/from storage. That short amount of time sealed won't cause any odors.

About the No Molds, do they hold the doors at a certain spot, open but not allow them to swing during travel? Checked reviews on these and they seem very mixed.

We just close the doors while moving and off, then prop open when we park it for storage.

They will not hold the doors in place while traveling. When we need to I just bungee them open.

I'd rather have the doors secured during transit. Even with the fridge off.

Braking, acceleration and turns will flop the doors against the latch and the cabinet next to the fridge.

Secure everything before transit. Prop the doors open after dropping the RV at the storage lot.

+1 for these.

I have used a dish towel with some success in the past, but I stopped doing that because of the risk of the doors swinging during transit. I close them at home, then open them full when the trailer gets to storage. Then close them when I pick it up next time.

Read the multiple posts on this forum about Norcold Fridge doors breaking off... There is no reason I can think of that I would prop the doors open when the rig is in motion, you are begging to have that hinge snap!

Agreed. We transport closed, and prop them open with the tabs when in storage.

Thanks for all the input. Had a Norcold fridge from 2004 through 2007 that I kept at home so it wasn't really an issue with the doors. From '08 til this spring I had a Keystone Sprinter with a Dometic with the blue clips that worked very well holding the doors. Just need to remember to close 'em before I move it.
