Hole in dicor on roof - help

I just found this as I was washing roof. TT is just over 2 years old. I'm in So Cal so it hasn't rained here for as long as I remember. Would prolonged very hot sun cause this?

I was going to 'clean the wound', lightly sand around it then put a big old layer of Dicor on top.

Is that the right thing to do. Is there any videos on this repair floating around?

I would say heat. I have found a number of bubbles forming on my roof. I popped them and added a bit of decor.

Dicor has videos on their website as well as youtube.if you are using the self leveling which you should for a roof its very easy,just clean it up where you need to apply and put a nice bead on it,it will look bad at first but its self leveling and will smooth itself out.i just did some patch work on my roof and it was a piece of cake

Sand it???? Why? there is nothing to sand... the paper will just clog up... Clean it, gently scrape off some of the old sealant and apply fresh sealant..

Not sand. I mean some wet n dry to get the dirt off so it's clean. With heat in LA n smog dust that dirt is baked in .
I tried wet sanding in AM when it's cold n it cleaned dirt off dicor when scrubbing brush would not.

Do I need to find out what type of dicor to patch with?
I see different dicor tubes---Are they all the same - prob not. Would I have to match what's there? Is there a special "patch" version just for this?

Clean the area with mineral spirits [don't get any on the roof membrane] and just fill the hole in with self leveling Dicor. Done it many times. There are a few different types of Dicor, just make sure it's for exterior use and self leveling.

Replacing, touching up the Dicor lap sealant is all normal maintenance stuff. There's plenty of info out on the web on how to do this.

That looks like an air bubble that eventually surfaced and popped. The heat probably contributed to it surfacing and opening.

No big deal at all. Get some mineral spirits, clean the existing caulking with it (it will take all the dirt off and leave it bright white) let it dry for a bit and then put a gob of self leveling dicor on it. It will skin over in a few hours but will take several days to cure.
