Honda EU2200i

We have a 2011 Jay Flight 264BH. The A/C is a 13.5. I was given a brand new, box never opened, Honda EU2200i generator. Will it power my A/C? I don’t know much about these things.

It will run the unit. Problem is, 2200 surge watts isn't enough to start the unit, a/c units require a sort surge of higher watts to start the compressor. You can install or have installed a Micro-Air soft start, it allows the compressor to start at a lower wattage than the OEM equipment.

The Micro-Air EasyStart would be the way to go. I have a Champion 2000 watt inverter generator and with the Micro-Air installed on the 13.5K A/C in my ORV the Champion is able to run the A/C. You would still need to be aware of what else is being used to avoid overloading the smaller generator.

If you want to do some additional research on the Micro-Air here is the link to some FAQ's and videos:

I’ll have to say get the Micro-Air as well. I run my camper with a 2200i and the Micro-Air makes the AC unit purr like a kitten. So much easier on the compressor in the AC. Take care of that generator and it will last a lifetime

I run my 15kbtu unit with the 2000i companion. It’s the one with the 30 amp plug output.

The new equivalent would be the 2200ic.

We run our 13.5 on the Honda EB2800i all the time, but you can't have anything thing else on.
