hose storage

How do all of you store your fresh water hose? We have 50 feet of hose and are trying find something to fit it. We have been keeping it in a plastic tote, but it takes up so much room. What about all of outside tools, such as marshmallow forks, grill equipment. I am always trying to find the best way to store all of these things and maximize our space.

That's a lot of hose. Do you need that much? I am using totes as well. We seem to have a ton of storage though

I have (2) 25' hoses and find them easier to roll up and store. I also have a skybox ( on the roof of my SUV ) that I store a large assortment of stuff that's used for camping.

We have two 25 foot hoses. there have been a few times when we have need both, depending where the hook up is located. THe new trailer's hookup is in a different location, so maybe we won't need both very often just trying to find the best way to store them. I have found bags they can be stored in.

I connect the ends of my water hoses that way water can not run out while it is in my storage bin.

We carry 2 - 25 ft fresh water hoses in these bags:

Good Sam Hose Storage Bag - Direcsource Ltd CX-01312 - Hoses, Reels & Fittings - Camping World

Inexpensive and take a bit less room in storage than the tote we had been using. We drain them when rolling them up and then use caps with vent holes in them on both ends

Keep 2 hoses, water filter, regulator, and splitter in a 10gal rubbermaid roughneck tote. Keep the 50a power cord , 110 extension cord, and cable tv cord in another, they stack on top of each other in the storage under the rear bunk with room for the grill and camp chairs as well.

I really like then water hoses in a tote cause if they aren't completely dried out, you end up with water in a tote, not the floor of the trailer.

After I coil up the hose I connect the ends together to prevent water from leaking out. I do not carry a tote but I have a hook I keep the hose, electrical cord & Tv cable on.

TM,

Can't give specific details until probably Fri when we get our tt out of winter storage, but we have a black w/ red (think the top is red) split lid (that's hinged) tote that I keep (this is from memory): think it's 85' of fresh hose (50',25',10'), 25' 30a ext cord, 50' 12g ext cord, 50a to 30a dogbone, power strip, hose splitters, and may be missing a couple items. Fits in the front storage too. The fresh hoses do get coiled up pretty small to fit though.

Marshmallow/ hot dog forks are stored in one side of the bumper, and fire poker & tongs are kept on the other side. I cut a 4" u shaped gutter down to fit in the bumper. Then cut a small 2"x4" piece of wood and screwed it in the middle as a stopper.

Sewer hose is kept under the tt in a 5" vinyl fence post sleeve. Have 1-4" u gutter the full length of the fence post sleeve, and the cut another in half. They work great as a tray, and also double as sewer hose support if needed when camping.

What "grill stuff" are you referring to? Grill itself, or utinsels? We keep our Weber Q220 in the front pass through, and all the utinsels and other stuff (seasonings) in the outdoor kitchen.

Check my signature mods link for what we have done so far to our 32.

If you would like more info on the tote, send me a pm this next w/e in case I forget to check. We are trying to settle in our new house. Had movers yesterday for all the big stuff, and need to try to organize a ton, while still getting odds and ends from the other place. But once settled we have room to keep the tt at our house!!!

I do believe we bought the tote at Walmart, but may have been Lowes or Home Depot. It's been almost 2yrs. Hopefully a price sticker is still on it!!! Lol It is not much smaller than the storage opening to give you an idea of size.

Give it some time organizing. There are times after 1.5 seasons we will probably still tweak things.

We carry 2, 25' coiled hoses and pressure regulator in a plastic tote that fits nicely in our small side storage located next to the external shower and city water connection port.

X2, I have each wrapped separately, and secured with long velcro straps. I store my pressure regulator on the hose, along with a 90 brass elbow. As for a spliitter, it's kept in my parts bin. As I rarely use it.

My extension cords are stored the same way. There all stacked in a pile and they stay there as we travel.

Marshmallow sticks and pie irons are stored in the bag which once held an old folding chair.

Grill stuff, I don't have much, grilling utensils are kept in the kitchen. I do not use the attached grill stuff/system. I use a 11 pound propane tank, a manifold and a couple hoses. The hoses are coiled just like the hoses. And a placed on the pile.

I use a Stanley Rolling Toolbox. Bottom section holds a 30 foot 30 amp cable, a 30 Amp to 15 amp adaptor, and 25 feet of coax cable for the TV along with a multimeter. The middle section holds fuses and other assorted parts, the top section holds 25 feet of fresh water hose, filter and all the required fittings. I keep a head lamp in the storage on the lid.

This keeps everything for hookups in one place and it's the last thing I put in the trailer when I leave and the first thing off after I level.

I carry 15' and a 25' hoses for short distances and roll them up using a bungee tarp tie-down to hold them together. The 75' hose for those rare longer reaches is on a hose reel from Home Depot. Makes it easy to roll up and store in the cargo bay.

I have a couple of 25 foot hoses that I rarely use (need them at home to water up sometimes). I keep those in a tote in back of pickup. Most of what I use at campsites with water hookups is a 10 foot hose, which I keep in an electrician's cable bag that I got for free at Menard's with a rebate coupon. Small, handy, carrying handle, and just connect the hose ends to keep it from leaking. Easily fits in a small outside storage compartment on the trailer, and takes up very little space.

SWMBO suggested that I go to the Dollar Store and pick up a couple of big storage bags. These are like giant heavy duty Baggies and have the same seal as a Baggie. I can coil my hoses and lay them flat and no leaky!
