Hot water

Just got our 2021 jay feather 27 bhb. Donít know how to get the hot water working. The valves are in normal configuration. The switch by the water heater is in on. I turned the switch for electric mode and do t have any hot water. Also canít remember how to use the gas for it, is there a pilot light I need to light?

Welcome aboard.

Have you confirmed there is water in the tank? I do this by flipping the pressure relief valve from the outside access panel.

Have you verified the 120 volt circuit breaker is not tripped or flipped off. I always flip my water heater breaker off if it drained.

If the electric heating was turned on when the tank was dry it will burn out, and will need to be replaced. Hence why I flip the breaker when the tank is dry.

As for running on gas. What model water heater do you have? I'm not sure if Jayco still uses any that have a pilot light. If you have a gas switch next to the electric switch, flip it on and your good to go.

You can use both the gas and electric heating at the same time for a faster recovery.

Check in the lower left front corner outside on the water heater. Some had another switch there that may be off. As jagiven said all you need to do is flip the wh gas switch in the control panel or maybe you need to do it from the BMpro app.
