Hot water heater switch

Hello,

I9 have a 2008 Jayco Feather lite TT and I have a question about the water heater switch. We were camping and I turned on the electric water heater switch to heat the water. I have both a LP Gas water heater switch and a electric water heater switch. After awhile the switch was getting warm as I left it on for a extended period of time. My question is this: Should I leave it on for the time I need hot water or can I leave it on for along period of time? Thanks for the advice.

Mines always on with no issue, hot water anytime I need it.

You can leave it on as long as you have water in the water heater and want the ability to have hot water. It's normal for an illuminated switch to get a little warm.

The light on my switches never get warm. Right now they have been on for four days straight.

The tiny light in the switch of my old TT was a tiny incandescent bulb and did get a bit warm. Newer switches are LED's and don't heat up at all.

Water heater switch getting warm

It was getting warm when I had my water hose connected to the water connection. I have an electric water heater and or gas. I didn't fill my fresh water tanks because I was already connected to the city water connection. Would that be a problem?
