Hot Water Tank

Just wondered how many people out there leave the plug out of their aluminium hot water tank when not in use. I sanitized the water lines and drained the hot water tank. I left the plug out as the dealer had left it out after winterizing it. Should leaving it out with no water help with the eggy odor, or does it not matter when the tank is empty?

Put the plug back in after draining. You don't want bugs taking up residence in the tank.

Yep. Let it drain fully then keep it plugged.
