Hot Water Tank drain question

Was winterizing my 2016 25BH tt and opened my rear hot and cold low point drains. The lines emptied out and I turned the valves off, I went to pull the drain plug out of the water heater at the rear and when I took it out the tank was basically empty. Does that make sense, can that hot low point drain empty the thank out? Thanks

Yes the low point drain can empty the hot water tank.

Low point drain vis a vis hot water heater

Is this generally the case for most the Jayco TT's? Specifically, I have what I believe shows in my Signature (Jay Flight SLX 154BH, Baja Ed.).

It is not a universal rule. Mine does not. I would not assume it does without verifying it.

Jason just wanted to update. Again hot water heaters can be emptied by the low point drains. My 264 always would. I wouldn't assume they all do when it comes to winterizing like Norty said.

On my 28BHBE, I had pulled the low points last week. Last night I was winterizing and when I took the drain plug out the hot water heater, it was still full and took a few minutes to drain. Just an FYI....

Mine won't drain unless I open the pressure relief valve on the tank or open a faucet to allow air into the tank.

My 2016 WH 27DSRL water heater will not drain by using the low point drains even with all the hot water taps open. I have to pull the plug and lift the pressure relief valve. Now, on my old Coleman popup the low point drain would drain the water heater. You just have to check for yourself which process works for your particular trailer.
