How do you eliminate sway when parked?

We are new to the RV world but veteran campers. We have a 2009 34' Eagle that "rock and rolls" when we were at the campground on our shakedown trip. I leveled it front and back, right and left. Wheels chocked and stabilizers down with cordless drill and then hand cranked 1-1/2 turns more. Any suggestions? Can the type of levelers and firmness of the chocks have anything to do with it? I am purchasing crank type chock.

X-CHOCKS!!!! My wife and I finally got a set and used them our last trip and all I can say is WOW!!! what a difference it made in the stability of the coach when parked. Best thing I ever bought for our TT.

Ditto. X-chocks and a step support.

#1. X-Chocks

#2. JT Strong Arms (or equivalent)

#3. Kin Pin Stabilizer (I don't have one, but some folks say they help a bit)

#4. Something to stabilize the stairs because the only thing that wakes me up now is kids getting up early and bounding down the stairs to go outside. I just ordered these to hopefully resolve that, but they haven't arrived yet:

Best of luck!

+1 to X-chocks.

And since you're in San Antonio area (I live in Seguin), I'll sell you mine; $30 for the pair (that's about 1/2 price of new).

Between those and putting an extra set of jacks in front of the axles, I could get the trailer pretty stable. I have some of those for sale too if you want 'em (Stacker Jacks, set of 4). Make it an even $50 and you can have it all. And yes, I'm serious, and yes this stuff helps.

All good recommendations. That is a big tt, you can also add a set of additional stabilizers right in front of the wheels.

May need to adjust/tighten the stablilizer jacks after a day or 2, try not using any lego blocks under the stablizers and see if that helps.

+1. We park the trailer and block the wheels, deploy the X-chocks and stabilizers, then finish the setup routine. Then I go around and tighten the stabilizers and X-chocks again. Once the tires have cooled, they will have shrunk in size a bit, making the x-chocks loose. Another couple of cranks on them will tighten them right up again, removing the wiggle. The same with the stabilizers, especially if the ground is a bit soft. Once they've been tightened and people are moving around in the trailer, they'll come loose, so it doesn't hurt to tighten them again.

Adding another set of stabilizers in front of the wheels is still on my to-do list.

X2 on JT Strong Arms (or equivalent). We had them fore and aft on out 37' 5er and they worked great in reducing sway.

Using X-Chocks, JT Strongarms & the Glowstep Revolution here. Not even my two kids with all of their might can get that rig moving now.

oh man ive been down that rabbit hole

first I got a plate that slides onto the round end of the tongue jack...as that is a pivot point...helped a lot

then I got x chocks...helped

still shimmies

I read on another forum where someone installed a third pair of stabilizers...just after the wheels...they claimed this all but eliminated the shimmie

I'm thinking about doing this...just some bolts into the frame, what could go wrong

If I had kept my trailer, a set of scissor jacks bolted into the frame right in front of the front axle was on the tippy top of my to-do list. I was actually going to get a set of 4 and put two in front of the axles, and two behind. That'd give me a total of 6 jacks. Add in the X-chocks and it'd be solid.

The others are right though, at least once or twice the stabs and X-chocks need to be "snugged" because the rig will settle and the hot tires will cool and shrink.

I have used the items below, and our rig is pretty darn stable.

1. JT Strong Arms
2. 4 extra scissor jacks, mounted in front and behind the axles.

I loved using x-chocks on my old trailer, they were perfect. Sadly they do not fit on my 330RSTS, there is insufficient space between the wheels for them. I may look into the ones that sit flat on the ground between the tires and see if those will work next.

Making a pair is always an option! I did for my last trailer:

That has been suggested to me last week while on our shakedown trip. Where did you get the materials?

All good suggestions, add some Dramamine to the mix. I Actually got land sickness after awhile but you get used to it. Land sickness similar to sea sicknesses, the ground feels like it’s moving under your feet 🤢

Raise the TT off the tires as that is the culprit for that movement your feeling ) just kidding) Winds will also rock the hell out of these things no matter what devices you use💨
