How Long to Build and Deliver to Dealer?

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone had any insight on how long it takes a new TT to get to the dealer after they place an order? We were told 4-6 weeks when the order was placed. It has been about 5 weeks now, so I am just curious of what others have found.

From what I have read....It only takes a couple days to build, a video I watched was one day. But they only build each model a certain times each year. I’m guessing frequency depends on the model. So, if they just finished building your model the week before your purchased it, you need to wait for the next cycle. The factory should be able to tell the dealer the expected build week. I’m hoping the dealer doesn’t just guess what cycle your unit is in. Maybe call the factory yourself and get a better estimated build date.

You also have to factor in delivery time. Lots of new trailers and not that many drivers/haulers.

After the unit is built, it needs to be delivered. Jayco does not do the delivery. That is outsourced so is somewhat out of Jayco's control once the delivery company takes the unit to their lot.

Jayco might provide the name of the delivery company for you to check with them after it leaves Jayco.

We just placed an order for a new 32BHDS, here was the timeline:

2/5 - Ordered
3/18 - built and offline
3/25 - arrived at the dealer
3/28 - Our PDI and took it home

We are in Northern Indiana, so there was minimal transit time. Your dealer should be able to provide you with the build sheet, showing you the options, and estimated build date.

We custom ordered our new 2018 5th wheel from Jayco in April 2017 and received it by Late May 2017, so around 6 weeks. Once your dealer receives the camper, they'll do an inspection before you come to pick it up and finalized the paperwork. Please take your time with PDI. Take notes, ask questions, print out a PDI checklist just in case. Once the trailer leaves the lot, it'll be warranty work - which means if it's covered, expect it to take several weeks to fix anything.

Good Luck

Did you get a copy of your build sheet with the dates on it? If not I would asking your dealer for it.

We ordered our Jay Flight Bungalow in August, 2017, it was delivered around a month earlier than they originally said, January, 2018. The industry was insane busy at the time. Now I hear not so much. I hope the idiots that built ours were laid off...... Jayco fixed everything, but oh my....STUPID issues.

We are one of those customers who have endured a ridiculous build time with very little communication from Jayco. Ordered a an Eagle HT 30.5 CKTS on December 8, 2018.
We were given an estimated build of 6-8 weeks when placing the order. Our dealer in CT was unable to get any firm information from the Jayco Factory. We did not learn of an estimated build date until very late March....and the anticipated date it would come off line would be May 2. Here we are in late April and hoping the date holds true. We already had to cancel reservations for a week in early April that would have been our first trip with the new Eagle. We had a 2007 Eagle TT that we loved and had no problems with. I've become quite skeptical with this order being off to a bad start, and truly hope the Jayco quality hasn't suffered along with the communication and planning issues we are experiencing now.

I thinks that model is being built either the 2nd or 3rd week this month. I ordered one as well back in March.
