How to fill my 32BHDS at a seasonal site

Hello all!

This is my first post and first TT. We just got our Jayflight 32BHDS and have it permanently setup at a seasonal. For water we have a 500 gallon water tank next to our TT. However being a rookie at this I'm looking for opinions on the best setup to fill my TT from the external water tank. So far Ive been borrowing a buddy's transfer pump every weekend and spending about 20mins to fill into the gravity fill. I was hoping on utilizing the city water hook up but don't know which type of pump would be needed? Or can I take the Shurflow water pump inside my TT and set it up outside next to my water tank and hooking it up to the city water hookup, would have to wire in a new switch maybe via the furnace fan 12volt power??? Any ideas?? I'm no electrician/plumber but can handle the basics! Thanks

If your city water connection is a spigot you won't need a pump at all and I wouldn't think you'd need to fill the fresh water. It will connect to the TT water system providing pressurized fresh water directly. I would suggest a water pressure regulator between the water tap and the TT.

Stock pump should work plumbed into the city water hookup. Only thing you will want to do is protect it from getting wet. Maybe there is a waterproof version available??? Make sure the pump has air flow to keep cool as well!!!

As for running the wiring, tough call where the best place would be to tie into..... Could wire in a waterproof 12v outlet to the battery, mounted by the sewer h/u. Or maybe run the wiring in the 120v cord opening, and try to tie into 12v at the rear slide switch..... Just a couple ideas.

This would be true if the water tank outlet is higher than the TT inlet, you also won't have much pressure with gravity feed. You could remove your water pump and attach some hoses with fittings but I would just buy a new pump on Amazon they are pretty cheap that way your not messing with the TT water system.

Thanks for the advice. My TT is higher then my external tank so no go for gravity feed. The resort has no city water spigot or any water for that matter so we all have the 500 gallon external tanks.

Does the water tank have a valve with threads near the bottom that you could hook a hose to or do you have to drop a hose in from the top. Either way a simple water pump would do the job to pump the water into the TT. I would pump the water into the FW tank and use the TT water pump to put pressure in the system

Same question I had.

If you have a threaded tap at the bottom of the tank, I would look at buying another water pump like you have inside and plumb it to your city water connection. You will need 12V DC. Easiest power feed would be to create a fused power feed directly from the battery, with a water proof switch. Another nice thing about an rv water pump, they have a built in pressure switch.

If you have to pull/draw water up first to prime the tank, I am not sure how rv water tanks do, more than a foot or so.

1st thing make sure what ever pump you get is for potable water.

I have a spigot on the bottom of the external tank where I draw from. This is the borrowed pump *not weatherproof* I've been using into the fresh water.
