How to operate Faulkner Awning?

1987 Jayco 2350

The Faulkner brand awning seems to be missing a knob or level that would be inserted in the lower outside of each support. Can anyone provide any input?

I THINK that what I'm missing is these:RV Motorhome Faulkner Awning 81291 / 7510-0002 Height Lock Handles qty 2 handles

and from looking at the pictures, perhaps the plastic handle is broken off but the lock pin inside is still in place, thus holding the legs in place.

Thoughts?
