How to resolve condensation in the soft kickout of my trailer

I have a 16 foot Jayco Feather with soft kickouts. For the first time we are camping in 30 degree weather and are keeping it comfortably warm inside. We are experiencing substantial condensation on the inside of the canvas enclosure, enough where it drips water on us.

I suspect it may be impossible to resolve this problem, but does anyone have any suggestions on how I might?

Open a window slightly to equalize the humidity. Your owner’s manual probably discusses this issue. If you have 120 hookup a dehumidifier will help. It will get much more humid inside than out with the RV totally closed up.

Put a Popup gizmo on the outside. The extra insulation will help to keep inside moisture from your breath to condense on the roof.

I also use a dehumidifier and keep it on 24/7 & I put it on the counter top at night

Even a couple of those 12v tent end fans to move a little air will help.

Vent both ends. Air circulation is key to keeping condensation down.

Wow, that looks like it would be a good investment. It sounds like it is intended to be run to help resolve a myriad of moisture issues. Do you think it would work well for the condensation problem?

You can do all of those things that everyone is suggesting but if you continue to leave everything shut up you will not stop the humidity issue.

Your body puts off gallons of moisture as you breathe. Cooking, bathing and fixing coffee will had a bunch more. You still need to balance by cracking a window. Read your owner's manual on condensation and Google it.

We hunt in what generally turns out to be bad, rainy or snowy weather. There are usually four of us in the RV. It can get VERY wet inside during the night without a window cracked. We do not have 120 to run humidifiers and have never had a condensation issue.

All that will do is move the moist air around the RV. It is still going to settle someplace.

Thanks CAD. Really nice suggestion, and because we are out camping in cold weather right now, we can try that tonight. Any suggestions on how far a window should be open?

I usually open it about an inch but pick a window that snow or rain won’t blow in . If you still get too much try a couple different windows or different sides. It is a trial and error situation.

Need to make a correction on my 24/7 comment. It’s on now 24/7 because I’ve closed it up for the winter & I keep an electric heater on at about 47 deg.( keeps the dehumidifier from freezing up). When camping It’s off during the day, on at night with tent ends cracked a bit and bath fan cover up about 1”.

I found the Davis Air Dryer idea on an Airstream youtube video.
