How to rub out tree branch scratch Feather

We have a 2018 Jayco Feather 16XRB. We got a tree branch scratch near the top backing in recently and it does not look like it penetrated the paint/surface.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not that can be polished out using some type of compound or other product and a buffer. Or if some other way/product can be used to try and get rid of it.

Not sure what the siding on the trailer is made of, but I'd like to know so it will help me research and find out what is safe to do and what is not.

Thanks

If it’s gelcoat then you can buff it out. If it is the painted upgrade - then you have to repaint unless the scratch is very light. If it’s a deep scratch in the gelcoat it can be patched (filled) sanded and buffed back to new by a compounds specialist.

scratch or gouge?

Hard to give advice without actually seeing it, a few good pics can help.
If it catches your fingernail, probably needs fill and paint.
If it doesn't catch your fingernail it might polish out easily.

Yesterday I polished it with McGuiars cleaning/polishing product and it very much helped. So much that in the morning light (just now as I tried to take a photo) you could barely see it (much improved with the McGuiars) but in the direct sunlight you can very much see the "scratch." It seems like since I was able to diminish the scratch appearance with a cleaner polisher, using a product I found online called Formula 1 Scratch Remover (which I receive tomorrow) and my buffer it may very well take out the rest of the "scratch." It hasn't really penetrated the existing paint, just marred it on the surface. Thanks for the reply.

Be careful, apply lightly and not much pressure…. That stuff will cut paint (which is what you want) but just do a little at a time, a few passes and then check it…. Don’t want to remove too much as then you’ll have another issue.

If you can barely see it, no one else will. It will completely disappear from your mind when you stop thinking about it. Don't keep messing with it!

I used to worry about scratches from tree branches but gave up. Most of the time they can be mostly buffed out but they will always still be there to some degree.
I just call them PNW pin stripping.
Couple years ago while walking around a nice RV park we came to a section where only Class A's are allowed to park. The spots are setup facing the pond thats in the middle of the park. Most all were in the higher end like Tiffen, Newmar, etc. One we walked past had multiple scratches along the side near the roof line. You couldn't see them unless the light was right.
We laughed a little as that must really hurt to have spent $500K+ and have tree branch scratches on your full body paint.

The fix-it-til-it-breaks syndrome is a dangerous and expensive thing to have.
