Installed a high capacity Marshall Excelsior 2-stage propane regulator to replace the leaky factory valve. Went ahead and replaced the pigtail hose while I was at it.
I was able to reuse the factory mounting bracket and screws. The new regulator has mounting holes on the back in the exact same place as the factory regulator but they are not threaded. The factory screws thread themselves into the cast holes and tighten down perfectly though.
The factory plastic covers will not fit the new valve so they have to be purchased separately. They come in white but I painted ours black to blend in a little better.

I don’t recall if you use an automatic device to switch from the empty to full tank.

No just a single tank regulator. I use the second tank for our discada grill and fire pit.
Since we use Tank Check level sensors on each tank I know exactly how much propane we have in the tanks. I prefer to just manually swap tanks if need be.

Decided to change out to some LT tires on the dirtybird a few days ago.
I wanted to put the spare on one side and leave the other side supported on the frame with the jack and jack stand so I could run the wheels up to Discount Tire to get the new shoes mounted.
I had this spare off not even a year ago.....sure glad I ran across this now instead of on the side of the road. The lugs nuts were seized on so I hit them with some Aerokroil and hoped it would break them free......well they broke free alright .
Upon further inspection, I realized that Jayco had used Grade 5 bolts instead of actual wheel studs (which are a minimum of Grade 8 or higher). I think I could have tightened the spare too much and stretched the threads last time it was mounted because the lugs acted like they were galled.
I cut and ground the old bolts out and found some true 1/2"-20 lug studs that I could make work. I used a thick Grade 8 washer on the backside of each stud to backspace them enough to keep the knurled shoulders from protruding out of the front, which would've not allowed the spare to be properly seated against the carrier.
Now it's definitely better than new, and I'll be sure to use anti-seize on the lugs for a little insurance that this won't happen again.

Just finished putting the new shoes on .
Kumho MT51's in LT235/75R15 (factory size). They are D-rated at 2,335 lbs @ 65 psi.
We have approximately 650 lbs of excess capacity per tire when fully loaded for travel.

Nice shoes!! Hadn't seen these before so I'm going to add them to my list of potential upgrades as I am getting close to replacement time on the OEM Patagonia A/T's. They have done a decent job and I have no complaints but I would like the increased carry-capacity from the LR-D tire. I'm only about 310lbs below max per tire when fully loaded with the OEM's.

Yeah our OEMs were P-rated so they had to be maxed out.
These LT's don't even have a slight sidewall bulge with all of the weight on them.
I think they'll serve us well.....time will tell.

Actually my OEM Patagonia's are LT, not P-rated, but only LR-C with max carry of 1985 at 50psi in a single axle config. Loaded the axle is about 3260 and my typo in the previous post was off as it's about 350lbs under max carry per tire not 310. Moving up to the LR-D would give me about 700lbs under max.

Yeah, last CAT scale run we had 3,300 lbs on the axle so we have about 650 lbs. excess capacity per tire.

Tundra, as I recall you put Maxxis on your trailer. Did they wear out already?

Yeah we were running M8008’s.
They have done fine and are still in great shape, we just wanted a more aggressive LT tire, our private road is very rough.
We still have a Maxxis on the back bumper and the other two are hiding out under the house.

Read about this tip in a Trailer Life magazine and thought I'd give it a try since I had a couple pool noodles hanging out in the shed, plus we're tired of having to put the microwave glass back in place every time after traveling.
I cut it about 1/2" longer than the distance measured. Pull it out once we get to our campsite and throw it back in when we leave, takes less time than trying to get the glass back on track and don't have to worry about the glass getting broke.

This has been a little while, but since somebody else found this issue as well I figured I better post it up in hopes that Jayco will read it and attempt to build a water-tight unit from the factory.....
Found a potential leak this weekend. The wire molding for our fender LED marker light wasn’t fitting tight to the wall, after pulling the cap off there’s a wide open hole for wires and nothing keeping water from running under the molding and into the wall. There was a gasket between the cap and wall that had pulled loose. The other side was sitting tight, but I decided to seal it while I was at it. Use ProFlexRV sealant on them.

Very nice additions. It looks beautiful. One small hint. That fuse in the front sticking out of the box does blow due to Jack over or under extend. I felt that was a pain and put a resettable breaker there. It's small, the auto parts store has them, they're cheap, just hook the wires going to the fuse to it, and it even came with a weather cover.

Yeah it’s been on my list for a while now, I carry several 30-amp spare fuses with us but will be changing over to a circuit breaker soon.
I just saw one posted on the Hummingbird Facebook page, was that yours?

I wanted to do an initial follow-up for these tires.
Our first trip was this week, logged 700+ miles through rain, wind and dry conditions. The tires did excellent. They are very quiet and smooth and handled perfectly. No bounce at all and a very good ride.
We'll see how they last, I have a feeling that these tires are going to prove to be great.

fan
I installed a fan on the back wall on the left by the toilet obtain the fan from E trailer
went out the back with the four-inch register adapted it to 3 inch flex in the storage compartment
you'll find a live power supply for the interior light which you can tap into
install a switch.
