hybrid tent connection
Just came back from camping show, talked to jayco rep at show and he thought that being a 2018, but being 2nd owner, I may be SOL, so going to try to get it covered as a manufacturer issue on my own at a dealership they claim their warranty is so great. we will see

Could you be more specific about this tent connection.

The factory warranty is not transferable. That's industry standard in the RV/Camping trailer world.

Can you be a bit more specific about what the issue is?
The others are correct that Jayco only warranties the original owner. However, most of the materials around the hatches and including the tents themselves are relatively inexpensive. Unless it is a major structural issue, a quality repair may be possible at a very reasonable cost and you could still be miles ahead versus buying new.
Welcome to JOF - there are lots of experienced owners here who have solved all kinds of issues. There is a really good chance we can help you with this with just a bit more information.

Lots of info on this in the Jayco Hybrid section of this group. I took out the screws and added washers. Fearing its temporary. Another person added cable type clips over plastic strip.

As @Merrick indicates, several threads on this on the Hybrids forum. The washers seems to be the most commonly used fix for this. One other post mentions that someone managed to fabricate a metal replacement. None of the fixes are particularly difficult.
It would be nice if Jayco would return to the more robust trim used on earlier models. I don't have this problem on my older X19-H as the trim seems to be hardier than the current version. I do have one small crack after 9 years.
If you were to get it replaced under warranty as you suggest it will be replaced with the same material that is there now and will be prone to further failure outside of warranty. Since you don't have a warranty I would suggest making a more robust repair following what some of the other owners here have done.
