Hydraulic leaked on awning

I have a 2018 154BH. I recently drove it from Washington to California and back. I took Hwy 99 down the central valley. The road is so bumpy it is almost like driving on a dirt road. I came back north up I-5 and it was very windy and hot.

A few weeks later I went camping here in the NW and the awning collapsed on the rear side when I attempted to open it. I compared to the other side and it looks like the hydraulic lifter, or jack or whatever it's called had leaked all the oil out. I was able to use it by putting a stick to hold it open.

At any rate, is this something that can be easily fixed? I don't think I need a new awning (I'm hoping).

Without seeing it it is hard to tell but if you can get to both ends of the piston it can probably be removed and replaced. If you have the manuals for the awning call the company and see about a replacement. If not call Jayco with you VIN and they should be able to give you the maker or a source for the part.

If its just the piston that failed it should be a very easy remove and replace...
