I got a date!

Well, I just heard from my Jayco dealer. It looks like my new 38FDDS has an estimated 'off the line' date of 01/08/2016, at which time it goes to the 'pen' and awaits a driver to be assigned to haul it to my dealer here in Massachusetts!

It's a ways away, but I'm excited to get a date!

Does anyone know the approximate time it takes to get from the factory to the dealership once it rolls off the line?

Thanks.. John

That commitment isn't worth the electrons it took to make the phone call.

Until ALL the papers are signed and both sets of keys are in your possession, it's imaginary. And you still have to wait for the title, registration and loan documents.

Go ahead and enjoy your emotional roller-coaster ride of broken commitments.

With luck, you will have your RV before it is safe to de-winterize.

LMAO! Really? It's that bad huh? As long as it's here by spring, I'll be happy. It's just going to sit anyways

It may never to 'bad', but the only direction the delivery date can go is 'later'. Every foul-up, bleep and blunder at the factory, during shipment or at the dealer will cause the delivery date to slip. There have been 'horror stories' posted here. Consider them Worst Case Scenarios.

When we bought our first house, I chose to ride the excitements and disappointments for all they were worth. Having the 3rd offer accepted was just the beginning. Getting the contract and then the mortgage! Then the inevitable crap just before (and even at) the closing...

Now, if it ain't on the lot, I don't buy it. But that's me.

It goes to shipping as soon as your dealer pays for it. From there it depends on how soon the delivery company can find a driver.

Can't we do it like Johnny Cash's Cadillac and "Pick it up at the factory. It's cheaper that way".

Yes it could!

Though....all the way home in a reasonable length of time? Your call.

-----------------

I think everybody miss the Johnny Cash song reference:, "One Piece At A Time." Where he tells the story of stealing all the pieces to build a Cadillac while working at the factory from 1949 to 1976. Then finally assembling it and trying to get the title...

Hope they get it to you before the snow flies. Would not want my new trailer traveling in all the road salt. When we ordered ours I made sure of that. But in the meantime enjoy the wait. It is very exciting time, then when they call you to pick it up its like a fire work display goes off.
