I agree. I have 90 gallon fresh and 30 gallon grey. Ridiculous.

This is one more piece of evidence that these RV's are designed by college educated engineers and not users. If users were involved in the design then shortcomings like this would not occur.

While we are at it: Why can't RV manufacturers bug-proof the appliances? (Water heater, refrigerator and furnace). Do the 3rd party vendors get kick backs from manufacturers for intentionally creating their market?

OK, we're new to this and looking for a portable tank like the Barker. But what bewilders us is that the tent campers release their grey water (washing dishes, hosing off) all over the ground. Why can't we? What difference would it make really? We won't, but why not?

Well the real answer is tent campers aren't supposed to either, however rangers seem to over look 2 gal of fish water, but probably wouldn't be so kind with 30 gal of gray.

I hate my tiny grey water holding tank!!!!!!!

I think the reason for the disparity in grey vs. fresh capacity is because some of the fresh will end up in the black tank...unless you aren't using the toilet.

We have a macerator pump so that I can pump gray water into the tote while it sits in the bed of the truck. That eliminates wrestling a full tote over uneven ground to hook it to the truck. At Edisto Beach SP, the dump station is about a mile down a public highway, so pulling a tote at 2 mph isn't very safe.
