I’ve got gas…problems

Hey. I got a 10yo 23mbh that seems to have a gas flow problem.
This last trip the gas burners on stove got quirky.
1 burner seems fine- but if you put 2 then 3 on it drops to the tinyest trickle. Also the olympian5500 qk connect grill is a trickle of the flame.
I unhooked n hooked back up/yes, chk levels.
Furnace/gas fridge seem fine.

Should I just replace the regulator-I’m a propane know-zero BTW

It is possible the regulator needs to be replaced. I'd get a new one and install it. If the weak flow is fixed, you're all set, if not, it's always good to have a spare one then play detective to find the cause. Since you have low flow at more than one source, it's making me believe it's the regulator as long as you know the tanks aren't getting empty.

Sounds like the free flow safety valve has tripped. Try turning off the propane tank. Light the stove, until it burns out. Turn off the stove, and any other propane appliances. Slowly turn on the propane. Relight the stove.

The free flow safety valve is a safety device that will shut off the flow of propane if the valve sense a rush of propane.

May be time for a new regulator. When you order one, pay attention to the flow rate or whatever it is called.

Were it affecting only your cooktop and not the grill too, 2nd choice would be the regulator on the stove.

I also notice on 1 of the 30lb tanks there is a slight ping noise.
(kinda sounds like when you turn off a heater n you get that crackling noise as it cools down).
I read somewhere that tank might be overfilled and putting pressure on regulator.

I am looking into changing regulator...
Do I have to find the exact same replacement regulator? I have one with the white dial, clear window with the 2 green tabs, but cant find this anywhere on the web

When I search for replacement i get steered to something like this...

https://www.amazon.com/Marshall-Exce.../dp/B00KPR9Q30

I hope its as easy as just switching it out - but worry I have to set the correct pressure etc- which im clueless about

THX

RV Propane regulators come pre-set. It's also best to buy one that comes with the pigtails installed as well.

I got this one as a spare that is an exact replacement for the one I have. The one I'm using is 11 years old now. Never had a problem with it so far.

Cheaper, and new hoses too.

https://www.amazon.com/Cavagna-Kosan...74550454&psc=1

You guys reccomend replacing a new version of what was there?

Seems logical?

The link item's rating is high, price is ok, BTU seems a little low (160,000), depending on how many propane appliances you plan on using.

The link I used for the one I have that came on the trailer and as a spare is 345,000 BTU and includes new hoses. My trailer has usual appliances plus outdoor kitchen, grill, plus I have a 30,000 BTU outdoor cooker that I use.

I would go with a larger one than what you have. A single burner turkey cooker can use 60,000 BTU- 160 seems a little low. Maybe that is why you can run one stove burner ok, but the second one not so good.
