Info on enclosing area next to bed

We are new campers, and wasn't sure how to search for this ? We have a new 212 QBW we have a queen bed with front centered location. On each side of a the bed there is about a 3 or 4 inch gap approx. 3 feet long that is open to the underneath storage area. My wife is concerned about creepy crawlers getting in from the underneath storage area. Any body close this gap ? I suspect some air needs to vent through here so the bed will go down easily but don't think it would be that air tight overall anyway. The plywood from the bed platform would rub anything there on one side.
all help appreciated. I have already learned a ton from this forum.
thanks Troutcamper

Our new 28RLS has similar gaps on either side of the bed at the front wall although not that large. I'm thinking of taking some thin plywood or something, cutting it to fit and gluing in place over those openings. I don't think any ventilation is needed and I sure don't want anything creepy crawling it's way into my bed. Now having said that, I sure as heck hope that the pass through is sealed good enough to keep any creepy crawlies out!

Can you post some pictures? I love carpentry projects like this but I'm having a hard time picturing this to weigh in

I'm thinking you are referring to this area which SHOULD have a piece of wood on it like mine does. If yours is not there at all then that's a factory mess up! I just got done adding insulation under mine because of the heat under there. If you don't have these pieces I can only imagine the air coming up.
