Inside a/c filters

I did read the previous post in the search section and all good info. My question is there are two filters .One is what I would call a standard filter type material,rather open mesh /flexible . The othr side ,with the solid metal plate on the back side is more like a felt material but is slightly rubbish in feel.
My question is how to clean the second filter or just wipe it off. I would take a photo but daughter is not home,,,So
