Installing a Door Window

I've searched but can't find any discussion on this topic. I have a 2019 154BH Baja Edition with a windowless door. The door on this trailer, as well as a few of its slightly longer brethren, have narrow doors compared to the larger trailers many forum members have. The door is somewhere around 22" wide, while most in the RV lot I measured were around 27.5" wide, or thereabouts. Those doors with windows seem to all have an industry standard sized window, regardless of manufacturer, that fits in a cutout of around 12" x 21" (approx.) with the measurements from the trim's outer edge of around 15" x 25". This sized window (AP Products Slim Shade for example) will fit my door, but obviously with less door panel around the periphery of the window than on the larger doors. The door is a foam core door with a composite skin on both sides, and has a metal frame. Question 1 - should I have any concerns with door rigidity? Question 2 - what is the best way to remove the door for this project - remove the eighteen screws on the hinges or just remove the three hinge pins? Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

I would remove the screws, making sure the screws are all the same length. If you’re worried about using a standard door sized window and door integrity, look for a smaller window and install that. Good luck!

+1 for removing the screws. That's how I did it on my last trailer. Smaller door like you have and I installed a Slim Shade in it. I took the door off the TT by removing all the screws at the hinge. Brought it into the garage and started laying out the measurements to cut the hole. Overall very easy just be ready for lots of bits of the foam core to by flying around.
