Want to change from Progressive insurance. Would like some other names of a good company for our Jay Flight Swift. Thanks!

A newbie here, The first thing I did was to get several quotess. The majority came within a couple of dollars. For me, it came down to promptness, curteous and honesty.
Our decisions was;
Pam Cunningham
Borden RV Insurance Agency
P.O. Box 11329
Goldsboro, NC 27532
1-800-446-9699
Fax 919-751-7494
Being a newbie, she answered all my stupid questions. Told me how to save money once our TT is at the campground. She also explained to me what I would need to do should we decide to venture out with the TT. I hope this helps. Also, please know I am not pushing this company, but so far, I have confidence with them. Good Luck!

The $189/yr. from State Farm is interesting. Just purchased $500 deductible from them on new Jay Flight 23rb and it was $360/yr. That's almost double. Will have to check into this unless Missouri rates are that much higher. We also have vehicle coverage with them.

Insurance
Thanks for your help. I have done a bit of research and have decided that I want a specific policy not obtained through my auto insurance company. I have State Farm for all of my other needs. I have been told that it is best to have a specific RV policy. 100% replacement is important to me rather than depreciated value as one has with auto policies. Thanks again.

USAA is our insurance company BUT they insure RVs through Progressive; we instead elected to insure the RV through a direct policy with Foremost.

Yes, location has an influence on your premiums. My DW works for State Farm. She also has told me other factors can affect your premium. Past claims, multi policy discount and even your credit scores.

No past claims except from 2 deer claims! Credit scores are not an issue. We do have 2 vehicle policies, 1 disability income policy, and 2 rental properties insured with them. I would assume that counts for multi-policies. Homeowners is now with another company. The difference in rates may be due to the amount of liability coverage we have.

I 100% agree you want an RV specific policy; not a rider to your Auto, home or any other policy you may be able to do that with.
However unless you are upset with your current insurance company or agent, I don't see why you wouldn't get a quote from State Farm. They can certainly write a RV specific policy and you will likely get multi-policy discount.
Replacement value isn't always an option, typically it's only an option for the first ~5 years assuming you bought new. If you RV is more than 5 years old or you didn't purchase new it might not be an option for you. In that case you get replacement value, not depreciated value although replacement will certainly include some depreciation, or you could try to get an "agreed value" policy.
All of my insurance is with Allied Insurance, division of Nationwide, and we are very happy with them but they don't write in every state and you must go through an individual agent as they don't quote direct.

How are you going to use the tt, also affects the insurance rates. Coworker did and rv specific insurance and a once in a 100th year rain storm came through flooded the camp and totaled the tt. Insurance did not cover the 3 month old tt, as it did not have flood insurance coverage. With my auto coverage I am cover no matter what happens.

I have Blue Sky insurance on my trailer, they have a replacement policy. I will have to check on flood insurance....that should be covered.

Hartford covers our cars and the TT. The Jayco coverage is just $105. But that has no content coverage. That falls under our home owners policy and has no separate cost I believe.

As a new owner (we take delivery on Monday) I got a number of quotes. We have good credit score, clean driving records. Current homeowners/auto with Farmers, who quoted a Foremost policy at $550 with $500 deductible, depreciated value coverage. Progressive at $446 for $500 deductible, replacement value. Geico (Foremost quote) at $739 for $250 deductible, replacement value. Hartford (through AARP) wouldn't insure the trailer without the TV.
Our choice was Good Sam (National General) at $211 with $250 deductible, replacement value.
I sent the Good Sam policy to my Farmers agent. He hasn't called back to say I have a serious gap in coverage.

I have USSA as well. And as long as you had RV coverage through them you can add another one without going through Progressive. Whenever I went to add another one I always had one already covered by them is what I mean. So there was not gap.
Not sure if progressive is better or worse it was just easier to stick with USSA for me.

It's my understanding that USAA uses Progressive to insure RVs.

Insurance rates vary state by state and trailer size. My 08 G2 23 FB was $100.00 a year with mercury insurance.
My 2012 Jayco Jayflight 29RLDS is $208 a year and I have $100 deductible.
GEICO insures RV also. I have my Gold Wing motorcycle insured with them and they are about the same on the RV as Mercury so I couldn't see any reason to switch.
I also got a good quote from Good Sam. I don't remember what it was but it was for my car and TT.
