Insurance suggestions needed

I have a renewal notice on my 2017 Jay feather 25 BH with Sams that was initially $325./year now up to $425./yr. That's almost a 25% increase, never had a claim. I will shop around, any suggestions for companies & prices? I have Geico for my 2 vehicles now. It's National general insurance through Good Sam BTW.

We had Progressive for several years because they offered the best price and coverage for our RVs but after they raised their rates considerably last year we found the best price was now with our home and auto carrier "by bundling".

Mine is also with my home and auto carrier "Erie Insurance". It's isn't replacement value insurance, but it only runs me around $110/year.

We have our home, automobiles, and RV's all under one policy with USAA.

I would check with your current home and auto insurer for a bundled package including your RV.

If you are insuring an RV, Foremost is the ONLY company to consider. At least it is in NY.

I pay $55/year to cover our TT on the auto policy. Liability insurance is not necessary. The only time it could do damage is if it came loose for instance while being towed. And then it's covered by the tow vehicles liability insurance. That's my understanding, and I'm not an insurance expert by any means, just a customer.

The main reason for insurance is to cover a loss if it has a fire, is broken into or the whole thing is stolen. Regardless, the only thing you are out is the cost of the property.

Maybe liability could be covered on a Homeowner's policy, and that could be checked into. Nevertheless, IMHO liability is more important than fire and theft. What if someone breaks in and is seriously injured. Like maybe to vandalize by starting a fire and then ends up dying. It doesn't matter in today's legal society that he was a thief.

Our TT sits on our land and is treated like the barn, she'd, garage for liability purposes by the homeowners insurance as I was told. if I was storing it off our property, I would have to ask the insurance company about that situation.

Bundle it with Geico, you'll get a discount on both the cars and the TT.

Sure wish USAA offered 5-year "replacement value" coverage on RV's like Progressive, GEICO, etc. USAA only offers ACV (actual cash value) coverage. Some new RV's take a 30-40% ACV hit just in the first year. After 5-years, USAA would only pay, maybe, half of what you originally paid for a new RV. With Progressive or GEICO you'd get reimbursed for the full amount to purchase the same RV new (if you choose "replacement value" coverage).
