Inverter usage

We have a Jayco 332 eagle travel trailer. It has an inverter but very little information in our manual about it. I’m looking for something that explains when you turn on and off and what does it control. Thank you!

If it has a residential fridge you would turn the INVERTER on when towing to keep the fridge going. May be connected to another outlet, but normally the fridge it the primary need.

An Inverter is a device that converts 12 Volts DC from your battery to 120 Volts AC. It's used only when you don't have shore power or a generator to run 120 VAC appliances such as when you're on the road or boondocking.

Inverters have their limits. Depending on your battery capabilities as well as what your inverter is rated for, you will only be able to run certain appliances for certain periods of time before you exceed the system's capabilities. So you need to know this upfront. Many inverters don't produce enough power to run the air conditioner for example. Additionally, the battery or batteries can only produce power for so long before they need to be recharged.

If you know the capabilities of your inverter and use it correctly, they can be very handy to have when 120 VAC power is not available elsewhere.
