iPhone usage for TT application

I was getting ready to head out next week and started the fridge today. I couldn't find my bubble level from my previous unit, then I realized I had a program called "iLevel" on my iPhone.
I tried it out and it was great!! It gave me the actual degrees that I was off level. This means you don't have to worry about getting it perfect, the level tells you if you are within the permitted degrees.
This will really come in handy on the road if you are stopped on a slight incline and not sure.

Yup! It's a great guide. Fairly accurate.

I have that same App too. Just out of curiosity, where did you place the phone when taking your measurements? Thanks!

Got it too. I place mine on the floor inside the door and also my counter top as a second opinion. Works very well. I've found though, that my otter box can distort the readings a little.

My primary spot was the counter top, I also checked the floor and the angle of the tongue. I got slightly different measurements between each one but none of significance.
I also found you can just lay it flat, it works the same. I had been thinking that you had to hold it on its side like a normal level.

For any Droid users out there that didn't know, there is a level app for the Droid as well.

I tried that app also. When I found that it wasn't accurate, I got rid of it. It's possible that it wasn't accurate because I have a case on my iphone, but then, who doesn't.

I use that also from time to time. I calibrated mine to a circle vial I have. It. Takes a little bit to get it true, but now it works well.

I have an iphone app called Rv Companion. It has a leveler on it that tells you about how many inches of blocking to add under tires to make the trailer level. Have yet to try it but if it reduces the amount of trial and error on the blocking process, it would be great.

I downloaded this after you mentioned it and it worked great. It was close before calibration, but bang on after (you just have to find a known flat surface to calibrate). It told me I was 1 inch down on the right side, but I wondered if that might change after I put the slideout out. It brought it down to .5 inches and I said "close enough."
Thanks for the tip. The level portion is included in the free app.

I use an app Bubble 2.0.1 by Ben Zibble on my Android Phone and it's great. Spot on(can be calibrated if need be) any side of phone can be used for level or laid flat. Has voice that reads off readings to you. Will show numeric value of angle, show angle as percentage, show tenth of a degree, show pitch, show inches of rise per foot, can change color scheme, you can lock angle on screen, will beep when level, also blink a light(if on phone)when level and it's FREE! I love it glad I found it, use it all the time. Check it out if you have an Android phone. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever FYI. I also have an Otterbox on mine and it does not affect the readings or use. Camp ON

I tried looking for the RV Companion on my Droid, but didn't get any hits in the marketplace for it.

Wow, the leveler sure works great! I could have used it a few days back. I keep forgetting that the smartphones can do so much! Thanks for the suggestion Grantsoo... helpful thread!
