Is your roof sealant "slopped on"?

I took a closer look at my roof today. Where the rubber meets the front aluminum siding there is a seam, and a whole bunch of sealant just slopped along it, some areas with excess and some areas where it hasn't completely covered whatever is underneath. Is this normal? Anyone else's like this?

Very typical of all brands. I checked mine during PDI and found some areas well covered and others were missing sealant. I corrected prior to delivery... In fact, I found several voids in the front cap, around openings, and so on - all told I used a 1/2 tube of caulking to correct it.

Thats a sloppy darn job. Nope, mine doesn't look like that. You think your dealer would have noticed it! I just got up on my roof this past week with a tube of dicor self leveling and went over any areas that I felt it would help. Mostly around the tv antenna.

It's not that sloppy. There's no way to apply a self-leveling sealant neatly, and actually, there's no need to. As long as it flows over the seam, that's what counts.

Mine looks nothing like that. I know it won't hurt anything, and more is better than not enough, but someone certainly didn't take their time. I re-did some places this past week(went over what was there), took my time, and it came out real well.

Mine "kinda" looks like that. I dont really care what the top of mine looks like just as long as it dosent leak. In your pic it looks like someone went over the existing lap sealant with another coat which is normal for a real seal/touch up.

My 2017, 26BH looked like that, except for the five spots where there were holes in it.

I immediately removed all the Dicor sealant on my roof and replaced it with Eternabond tape.

Dicor sealant's inexpensive, and it can be applied very quickly, so that's what they use.

That's pretty much what mine looked like when it was new. Worse now after adding in different places over the past 4 years. I also don't really care what the roof looks like so long as it dosent leak. For what it's worth our 2011 SOB TT' s roof looked the same.

How hard is it to remove the existing?

Fairly easy but you must use a plastic putty knife so you don't cut through the rubber roof by accident. A hair drier is your friend during the removal.

Ditto on the plastic putty knife. On a newish roof, you may find the hair dryer is optional.

All you really have to do is get rid of most of it. Lots of people put the Eternabond right on top of the the Dicor lap sealant without removing any of it, so you're ahead of the game by removing it first.

On our roof, I did the long, front seam, around the refrigerator thingy, the skylight, bathroom fan, and the TV antenna. I didn't do the small, round fittings like the radio antenna and the ladder supports.

I didn’t remove my sealant before taping my whole front seam. I cleaned the area well and it’s been good for over a year now. Of course mine didn’t look like the OPs picture, that is excessive lol.
