It's been fun but time to go

I have sold my 2012 29 RLDS. My wife is having real bad back and sciatica problems so getting in and out of the trailer is getting to be real bad on her back now. Thanks to everyone for all the help with my questions,
We traveled for about 30 years on our Honda Gold Wing's, then the last 7 years with the trailer so now I guess we will be taking the car and staying in motels and eating in restaurants like we did when we were on the motorcycle. It's been fun and we met a lot of great people. I wish all of you Safe and Happy camping and a great and Blessed 2018. May God grant all of you traveling mercies where ever you go.

Sorry to hear that!

Both my wife and I have back issues, so we traded the trailer for a class C. We just couldn't do the hooking and un-hooking anymore. It eventually got bad enough that climbing in and out of the class C cab got to be too much, so we got a class A, and that's where we are now.

God bless!

Best of luck to you and your wife. Those are the reasons we have decided not to do full timing. Getting up there in the years and getting around, up and down is becoming a problem. Do enjoy the camping and will do so for as long as possible. But still want the home to come home too! We too enjoy all the friends we have made traveling around and all the adventures.

I can sympathise, nether of us are getting any younger, and probably well past due for a "factory recall"... but I keep adding power-assisted gadgets (to the trailer!) to extend our camping life a few more years.

I'm glad to hear that you will still be travelling, albeit in the car.
Many more good years to you both.

DW is 69 and I'm 70 and after 5 joint replacements {DW-1 and me 4} we are good to go for now. I'm pretty much resolved that our 2014 WH will be our last and the 2010 Duramax has yet to turn over 100k miles. Getting in is a bit more of a challenge but adding a cheater step helps when necessary. The
dsre is perfect for the two of us as it is wide open inside and perfect for two. Hoping for several more good RV years in the TT.

Taking our 3d extended MH trip in Alaska, this time taking the entire extended family [9 adults and 9 grands] in 4 Mhomes. Trip was DW's passion and what she ask for her 70th. Don't see us going from the TT to a MH down the road, and suspect we will just go the route of the OP and step back to the Duramax and motel/condo rentals for our travels. Sad but all good things come to an end and we must move on to the next chapter[s]. Hoping for many many more years and will be perfectly content sitting here on the farm.

Good luck to the OP as they make the move away from RVing.

All the best. Saturate a jacket or two with campfire smoke and savor the memories.

Thank all of you for the kind thoughts and prayers. We got 1 of our kids into RVing and they love it. So maybe once in awhile we can visit them on one of their outings. Have a Marry Christmas and a safe New year!!

Buy her a book titled: "Lose The Back Pain". It's published by The Healthy Back Institute. The book includes several exercises that will build up the core muscles that support the sciatica nerve. I speak from a successful experience.
