Jack knife sofa

Hello all,

Another question for you experience Jayco'ers. We have the jack knife sofa in our TT and I was wonder how you all have used that. It's a comfy sofa when in 'sofa' mode, but once folded out into a "bed" the seat area and the back area are two completely different firmnesses which would make for an odd sleeping experience. Also, there's a pretty sizable gap between the two where the sofa "jack knifes".

What have you guys done to make the jackknife more comfy?

We generally don't use it, but when our 20 something daughter camps along with us, we throw down a foam topper on it and also put a tote nest to the open end of the sofa, since she is taller than the sofa is long and her feet need somewhere to go.

It isn't an ideal situation by any means, but she's a good sport and young enough to not wake up all sore and bent like I would if I had to sleep on that instrument of medieval torture!

Ha, well height isn't somethin anyone in my family will have to worry about. I'm just worried about falling in between or getting stuck on one side.

I fold an extra sleeping bag length wise on the softer back section and that helps even it out, It's not perfect but better.

we use a swimming noodle in our white hawk sofa when the grandkids are with us. seems to work, but haven't slept there yet.

I am not at all young, and I slept on ours throughout a 3-week trip with a foam pad on it, then a sleeping bag. I am not very tall, but slept on it diagonally. It was really not bad.

+1 on the memory foam topper (Link). In the new 28BHBE, I ordered the hide-a-bed version. We will see if it is any better...

great for kids...sleepovers...but uncomfortable as hell for an adult in my opinion
the dinette bed is longer, you don't have to sleep in a fetal position
